The dancers in the Russian Festival Ballet,
representing the cream of Russian ballet, consist
mostly of winners and top performers in major
international ballet competitions. This ballet
company, travelling all over the world with a busy
performance schedule, is definitely one of the most
experienced classical ballet troupes to be seen
anywhere.
The Story
The Nutcracker Ballet is based on the story “The
Nutcracker and the King of Mice” written by E.T.A.
Hoffman and set to music by the legendary Peter
Tschaikovsky. Although what is seen on the stage
these days is different in detail from the original
story, the basic plot remains the same; the story of
a young German girl who dreams of a Nutcracker
Prince and a fierce battle against a Mouse King.
As the story unravels, the audience is propelled
into the world of the young Nutcracker and his quest
to conquer his adversaries, win the heart of the
discerning maiden and persevere against all odds in
the most majestic and magical manner
